Aureliu Leca

Aureliu Leca studied at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest, Faculty of Power Engineering, Department of thermo-energetics, graduating as valedictorian. During the period July 1968 - June 1969 he studied abroad as a Fulbright scholar at the University of Florida, Gainesville, Florida, USA, Department of Nuclear Engineering Science. 1972, he defended his doctoral thesis in the field of power plants, Polytechnic Institute of Bucharest, on the topic: Artificial roughness to enhance heat transfer in nuclear reactors.

Between 1990-1993 and 1997-1998, he served as President and CEO of the most important state owned power supply company  - RENEL, and from 2000 to 2004 was a senator in Olt County – PSD Party.

 

Aureliu Leca is a professor emeritus dr. engineer, with an impressive experience in the energy sector, both domestic and international levels, author and co-author of 33 books, monographs and textbooks for the energy field; he has published numerous articles, studies and papers in Romania and abroad. He is currently active as consultant and consulting professor and doctoral supervisor at the Polytechnic University of Bucharest.
